What to do if you are scammed, and how to avoid it.
Contact JunkDepot about your situation and who the offending user is. We do not tolerate our sellers abusing our system. If we have found the seller guilty of scamming users, that user will be banned from JunkDepot.
Steps to prevent abuse from sellers start with the buyer. Read over the ad placed and make sure it looks legit. A few flags to looks for would be user posting as many items as possible in their ad, this is used to lure users into contact them. In thse cases it's often the list price is $0. It's a good idea to stay clear from these types of ads unless they can provide proof they have the item you are looking to purchase.
Ads should only be listing single items, since ads are free here, there is no need to promote multiple items in a single listing, this only confuses buyers and is a flag for suspicious sellers. If you suspect a listing is suspicious, click the "Report this listing" on the right column of every ad.
Use the Rapleaf Reputation service. Whether your experience is good or bad, submit your user feedback about your experience with the seller or buyer. If you had a good experience, doing this will alert others on the site that the seller is an honest seller which should be promoted, just the same if you've had a bad experience this should be reported.
Money Matters
Do not send cash, money orders or wire money to anyone, not matter how good their rating is. You are unprotected even if the seller is honest and your money is lost. Do not do this at all costs. Use credit card services like PayPal and Google Checkout.
